Iris Braunstein – Shemesh
“The encounter between textures and color moves me and ignites in me the spark of inspiration.”
As a multi-disciplinary artist, I create in a wide range of fields: Judaica jewelry, gift designs, decorative sculptures and wall designs.
After years of creation, search, exploration and migration between materials. The girl in me is still looking for excitement.
“Iris Designs” – design studio was established in 1999 and is now sending designs all over the country and the world.
The sculptures I designed were born as a puzzle that has linked my creative fields in the last 20 years – graphic design, textile design and jewelry.
The desire to create large models led me to the simple idea of ”enlarging to a huge extent what I did in my creative life”
I am guided by textures, metals and color and inspired by the kaleidoscope of colors, nature and the sea.
I am fascinated by working with different materials and different cutting technologies while integrating them into a complete product.
while the combination them on walls creates light and shade while reflecting the color of the model.
In my work I see a process of personal expression, naivety versus maturity, daring, laws that does not exist. Constant exploration of techniques in different materials.
My idea is to breathe life into silent spaces and walls, to fill them with colorful movement and especially to make the viewer smile.
My products are displayed at the Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands (a jewelry collection I designed), museums and synagogues around the world.
